WIP - Bins

Will add more color, layers, and texture tomorrow, am much happier with hit now though, as compared to the earlier post from today.

WIP- Bins

Charcoal on gesso on baltic birch plywood.

This is the second time I've tried painting over charcoal, ok I'm using a brush to paint with, and I have to admit I absolutely loathe it!  First off I find myself wanting to paint 'inside' the lines like a coloring book, mistake number one, and secondly I keep expecting my brush to respond like my palette knife and well we all know that's not going to happen, mistake number two.  So when the first coat of paint is done drying I'm planning to go at it again with my palette knife and this time ignore those line!

The Cloud

Decided to make some program upgrades this past week, and finally decided to subscribe to Adobe's Creative Cloud, instead of buying the CS6 outright.  Am currently downloading the programs of my choice, yeah, and am hoping to roll out the newest book, with imbedded video no less, sometime next month!

Studio Cleaned!

I took some photos, for the sake of I now have evidence that my studio can be not only clean BUT clutter free!

Thomas finally came downstairs to join us, I'm not sure but I think he was in shock to see the big open spaces.

And then he discovered that the front door was open.  I'll take more photos later, looks like I have a big ole thumb print on the lense again.

Corn Series

Corn No. 41 and No. 42

Corn No. 43 and No. 44

I've been meaning to post these, they've been on my table for close to a year now.
Natural dyed and earth pigment painted cotton fabric, machine stitched.

No. 45 Redux

Corn No. 45 - Redux, I didn't like the original grain bin so I undid some of the stitching and turned it into a short fat silo, I'm much happier now!

No. 47

Corn No. 47 - not quite finished with this one, I'm not happy with the stitching to the left of the large bin.

No. 46

Cottonwood Stand

A beginning sketch on cotton fabric, more pen and ink and then some stitching and then maybe I'll rust and compost it for some additional color.
