My Boomer Bag has all sorts of pockets and places to tuck things away. I also have a variety of back packs that would work wonderfully for field work as well.  Posted by Picasa

I finally decided on an old LL Bean backpack for the time being. It holds a lot and is pretty easy to get into.

Yeah I like back packs better, my boomer bag makes my neck hurt, no matter where I put the strap on my shoulder.

For me it all depends on what kind of field work I'm doing. If I'm out collecting research samples, then I need a bigger bag as I will have my cameras, tools, containers for specimans and the like.

The fact that I'm in the field and am able to take time to draw and paint is a perk.
