Coreopsis

Here's a pic of some Coreopsis that is currently blooming in my front garden. I think I'll pick a bunch of it tomorrow and dye some wool with it, it gives a beautiful reddish orange color with alum mordant.

what percentage of yarn/fiber to the flower dye will you do? Been awhile since I've done natural dyeing

1:1 Ratio fiber to dyestuffs for a dark color. You can use the greens as well as the flowers for this dyeplant. You should expect to get a reddish orange.
